Website Trust Status

See how your website supports secure access and visitor protection

Website Trust Status checks whether your website is reachable, supports secure connections and has key browser protections in place.

It assesses publicly visible website security indicators and presents the findings in a clear, point-in-time Cyber Governance Record.

Use it to identify gaps, prioritise follow-up with your website provider and share evidence with boards, insurers, brokers and compliance teams.

Customers need to reach your website and connect securely. Access problems or browser warnings can interrupt enquiries and purchases, and reduce confidence in your business.

The checks help answer practical questions about your website:

  • Can people reach your website? Checks whether your website address can be found and the site responds, covering domain resolution and website reachability.
  • Is information protected during the connection? Checks whether an encrypted connection is available and visitors are directed to it, covering HTTPS and redirects.
  • Could connection warnings put visitors off? Checks for connection and certificate issues that could trigger browser warnings, including an expired certificate or one that does not match your website address.
  • Are basic visitor protections in place? Checks for security headers: settings that tell web browsers how to handle your website and help reduce certain security and privacy risks.

The record also includes technical observations your web developer can use to investigate findings and explain recommended changes. This gives you a shared basis for discussing what needs attention and why.

This record assesses publicly visible website indicators. It is not a security audit or certification.
